Biography
Dan Saban was born and raised in Arizona. He attended public school in Mesa and
has been a life-long East Valley Resident. He began his law enforcement career
in 1976 and retired from Mesa Police Department in 2004 working his way through
the ranks to Commander. He and his wife are strong believers in community
service and 11 years ago founded “Kops & Kowboys for Kids,” which is a
non-profit organization that bolsters the services of various children's
charities. Each year in January, Dan selects a charity to work with all year
long. This year he is committed to helping the homeless and each Friday for the
rest of the year, he will serve breakfast at the Phoenix Rescue Mission to help
feed the homeless.

Professional Experience
With 32 years of professional law enforcement experience, Dan Saban is prepared
and proven to lead the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Currently serving as
Police Chief for the Town of Buckeye, Dan has transformed and reshaped this
growing department, raising the standards of professionalism and performance. He
has created innovative programs that have established trust with the community
that have been instrumental in building the foundation for crime prevention and
future cooperation. Successes include, “Faith Builders for Public Safety,” a
partnership making connections with families to educate and inspire, and a newly
revised school resource officer called “VALUE Kids,” that emphasizes good
citizenship while teaching children about the dangers of drugs and gangs.
